Do not be fooled by the lure of the cheap price for new laptops. They are not cheap! Most cheap laptops come with small hard drives, outdated processors, and low end optical drives. By the time you add on all the upgrades to get it to perform to your satisfaction you will add on a few hundred dollars more to that "Cheap" laptop.
WARRANTY PERIOD
The cheap laptops come with a 90 day warranty instead of 1 year. You will pay extra for an extended warranty and the sales rep will make sure of it!
DATA & PROGRAMS
Once you get your new laptop you still have data you may need from the old laptop and transferring that costs money. Now what about all the programs you had on your laptop? Did you save all of the registration info? Many programs will not let you reinstall them without the original registration information.
TIME
By the time you drive around, deal with pushy sales reps and finally make a buying decision. And then transfer all of your data (an extra cost) your existing laptop would already be back in your hands and fully operational.
